As Director of Financial Services, you will play a vital role in supporting the mission of the Diocese by:

  • Guiding financial policy and best practices across diocesan parishes and schools
  • Strengthening internal controls and promoting financial stewardship
  • Partnering with pastors, administrators, and diocesan leadership
  • Leading strategic financial initiatives that influence ministries throughout the Diocese
  • Supporting retirement plan administration, assessments, compliance, and financial sustainability efforts across the organization

What You'll Do

Financial Leadership & Oversight

  • Provide guidance on parish and school financial policies and procedures
  • Maintain and enhance diocesan financial practices and internal controls
  • Conduct financial evaluations and oversee compliance reviews
  • Analyze annual parish and school budgets and financial reports

Strategic Planning & Reporting

  • Prepare financial analyses and recommendations for diocesan leadership
  • Manage diocesan financial databases and reporting systems
  • Participate in strategic initiatives and special projects for diocesan leadership

Retirement & Benefits Administration

  • Serve as Administrator of the Diocese's 401(k) Retirement Plan
  • Coordinate with advisors and service providers to ensure regulatory compliance

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Investigate reports of potential financial misconduct
  • Assist with unemployment compensation administration and fundraising compliance activities

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum five years of nonprofit accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of financial analysis, auditing, compliance, and internal controls

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Experience working with decentralized organizations such as parishes, schools, nonprofits, or affiliated entities
  • QuickBooks implementation experience

Information technology implementation experience
