Job Summary:

Provides on-call nursing care to the Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (P.R.T.F.)..

Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Provides basic medical care to clients in the program making recommendations for more advanced care if necessary.
  • Properly document medical records for each P.R.T.F. client.
  • Provides guidance to staff in special medical conditions affecting the at-risk youth population.
  • Maintains various documents as required by regulations and agency policies.
  • Provides guidance to staff regarding medical conditions/situations involving clients.
  • Rotates on-call duty with other nursing staff as needed to maintain a 24/7 availability for consultation regarding medical situations involving clients.
  • Ability to fill-in for Director of Medical Services as needed. Advanced notice will be provided for any scheduled vacation time. 
  • Monitors and/or dispenses medication in accordance with the doctor’s orders as needed.

Required Education, Experience and Clearances:

  • Registered Nurse with a current Pennsylvania license to practice nursing.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Experience working with at-risk teens in a treatment setting is preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • FBI, Child Abuse History, PA State Police, and Driver Clearances. Other clearances    may be required dependent on residency status.
