The Development Associate is responsible for overseeing gift recording and acknowledgement and supporting advancement initiatives at the Museum. This person has excellent organizational and interpersonal skills to help foster positive relationships with our donors and members. This position reports to the Executive Director of the Erie Art Museum. It is full-time, exempt with health, vision, and dental benefits, with a salary of $40,000/year.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Development Support

  • Oversee gift processing and acknowledgment using the DonorPerfect CRM system
  • Assist with the logistics of fundraising and donor cultivation events
  • Assist in maintaining communication calendar for individual donors, corporate support, and grants
  • Provide administrative assistance to the Executive Director

 

Membership Coordination

  • Coordinate membership initiatives
  • Process new applications for Museum membership
  • Communicate with lapsed or soon-to-be-lapsed members to encourage renewals
  • Maintain membership records and run reports in DonorPerfect CRM system
  • Create a monthly calendar of events, designed to enhance memberships benefits
  • Keep inventory of membership cards and supplies
  • Track membership metrics monthly

 

Administrative Support

  • Support and contribute to positive staff collaboration, outstanding visitor experience, and safe and sustainable operations
  • Knowledgeable about all EAM Policies, Procedures, and Guidelines
  • Assist in other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or comparable field experience, preferably two years of relevant professional experience.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems and familiarity with Google Workspace is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be comfortable speaking to and directing people of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Current PA State Police Criminal History Clearance, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal History Clearance valid within the past five years. (If the applicant does not have clearances, the Museum will perform a background check and ask for clearances before the start date.)
  • Ability to perform tasks that require moderate physical exertion on varying surfaces, inside and outside, and in various conditions.
  • Passion for the arts and community engagement is a plus

Work Schedule: Full-time (Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM). Occasional evening and weekend hours required, flexed within the workweek.
