POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Branch Executive Director at the Downtown YMCA stewards the Y's cause, promoting and protecting the brand reputation as a global, inclusive organization within the community. The Branch Executive Director oversees the operation of the Y and participates in volunteer and staff development, financial development, and collaboration with community stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversees the hiring, training, development and supervision of staff
  • Build community bridges to ensure that all segments of society have access to the Y
  • Communicate the Y's community impact to stakeholders and foster collaborative
  • Manage budgeting to align resources with priorities, ensuring operating budgets / financial targets are met or exceeded
  • Develop and implement member engagement strategies and programs which support branch and association goals and expansion of programs
  • Oversee financial development activities for the branch
  • Lead strategic planning and develop the annual operating
  • Hire, train, and supervise staff
  • Provides leadership for the Annual Giving Campaign and Special Events.
  • Foster a climate of innovation to develop member-focused programs that support the Y mission, goals and strategies.
  • Ensure the safety and maintenance of high-quality facilities, grounds and equipment
  • Responsible for working within the association to help achieve association goals (i.e. Serving on committees, participating in board meetings and functions, etc.).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, recreation, business, or a related
  • YMCA Leader or multi-Team Leader certification preferred
  • Four or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency
  • Proven ability to manage operations, volunteer development, supervision of staff, budgeting, and program development.
  • Experience in recruiting and managing volunteers
  • Prefer knowledge of and previous experience with relationship-building skills with diverse populations
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with community organizations
  • CPR and First Aid certifications required within 30 days of

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to use a computer and communicate effectively via phone and smart devices
  • Regularly required to sit, reach, and move around the work
  • Occasionally lift/move up to 50
  • Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision and the ability to adjust
  • Moderate noise level in the work
