DIRECTOR OF ADVANCEMENT 

Early Connections is seeking a dynamic, people oriented, creative leader to oversee the organization’s donor relations, strategic communications, social media presence, fundraising, and community engagement.  The Director of Advancement serves as the organization’s chief strategist for fundraising, revenue growth, and brand positioning.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive plans that align with the organizational mission, develop and execute EC’s annual appeals, grants, and collaborate with the Administrative Team and Department Directors.   
  • Donor Engagement: Cultivate and steward donors, develop relationships with community stakeholders and partners to increase philanthropy. 
  • Communications and Marketing: Direct advancement messaging, publications, and marketing efforts. Oversee brand positioning and EC’s website, oversee and develop all aspects of social media avenues, provide public relations, and attend events and functions representing EC.
  • Operations and Data: Help develop and manage the advancement database, process gifts, generate reports, work with CFO on budget and financials, and develop the organization’s annual impact report.
  • Fundraising: Plan and implement fundraising activities. Oversee and cultivate annual giving, capital campaigns, major gifts, planned giving, corporate/foundation relations and grant research. 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in fundraising, development, and stewardship. 
  • Strong interpersonal, management, and leadership skills. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated brand management, social media management, and media relations. 
  • Above average knowledge of computer software applications. 
  • BA in marketing, communications, fundraising, business or similar educational area plus 5 years’ experience in marketing, media, fundraising, or a combination of education and experience required.
