About Erie Cancer Wellness Center: Erie Cancer Wellness Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive non-medical support and resources to individuals and families affected by cancer. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for cancer patients through an evidenced-based, holistic approach that addresses mind, body, and spirit well-being.
Position Overview: The Outreach Program Coordinator at the Erie Cancer Wellness Center will support the planning, coordination, and delivery of our "Cancer Where You Are" pop-up programming. This role plays a vital part in extending our mission into the community by bringing supportive wellness services to individuals and families impacted by cancer. The coordinator will assist with outreach, data collection, and event execution, and will report directly to the Program Director.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Expansion Execution:
- Coordinate logistics for pop-up events including site selection/communication, participant and event scheduling, materials, and staffing.
- Ensure programs are delivered smoothly, aligned with the center’s mission and standards of care.
Community Outreach and Engagement:
- Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and local venues to host and promote pop-up programming.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to raise awareness and drive participation through social media, flyers, and community networks.
Participant Support:
- Welcome and assist participants during pop-up events with compassion and professionalism.
- Provide information about ongoing services at the Erie Cancer Wellness Center and facilitate warm referrals.
Data Collection and Reporting:
- Collect attendance, feedback, and impact data from each pop-up event.
- Assist in tracking program metrics to evaluate reach and effectiveness.
- Provide regular updates and reports to the Program Director.
Volunteer and Provider Coordination:
- Assist with coordinating volunteers and providers needed for pop-up events.
- Ensure all team members are informed, prepared, and supported during programming.
- Support and implement program accessibility initiatives for both in-person and virtual options.
Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, public health, human services or a related field preferred.
- Experience in program coordination, community outreach, or event planning.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Comfort with basic data entry and evaluation tools (e.g., spreadsheets, online forms).
- Compassionate, professional, and sensitive approach to working with individuals impacted by cancer.
- Ability to work independently with strong time-management skills.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as programming requires.
- Must be committed to having a positive rapport with staff members and a commitment to growing the ECWC program together.
- Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of ECWC.
Special Requirements
This is a part-time position, estimated at 25 hours per week. Traveling to community pop up sites 3x a month is required. Schedule is varied and based on community programming times.
