Job description:
Greater Erie Area Habitat for Humanity is seeking a part-time and semi-remote experienced nonprofit Bookkeeper (or Accountant) for 15-20 hours per week. The hourly rate is between $23-25 based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications. The ideal candidate will be proficient in QuickBooks, possess a strong background in accounting principles and practices, with the ability to handle financial data confidentially, accurately and efficiently. Able to work remotely and come to the office a few hours per week. Retirement plan with 3% match is offered.
Job Duties:
· Accounts payable, accounts receivable, bill preparation, bank reconciliations, QuickBooks entries.
· Filing of sales tax, SIMPLE IRA payments, required reporting, etc.
· Communicate with payroll provider, auditor, banks, IRS, and clients.
· End of the month reporting.
· Mortgage & escrow tracking & reconciliations.
· Entries to donor & mortgage tracking systems.
· Maintain the accuracy of the financial records.
· Assist in budgeting & forecasting processes.
· Maintain accurate & up-to-date accounts.
· Filing financial documents.
· Collaborate with auditing firms as needed
· Other job-related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
· Proficiency in QuickBooks REQUIRED.
· Needs to be accurate with keen attention to detail.
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred but not required
· At Least 5 years of experience in increasing responsibility in accounting roles.
· Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Self-directed, with strong organizational abilities.
· High work ethics and effective communication skills with staff, Habitat families, donors.
