Office/ Operations & Volunteer Manager

Greater Erie Area Habitat for Humanity is seeking a 40-hour Office & Volunteer Manager. Pay between $19-21 per hour based on experience.

Position Overview

The position reports to the Executive Director, and collaborates with the Construction Manager, ReStore Manager, and Executive Director to provide administrative and volunteer support.

Oversees the operations of the Habitat office.

  • Receives and makes calls, receives and sends emails.
  • Serves as a contact person for other employees or the outside public.
  • Creates & provides information regarding location or availability of materials, resources, and services.
  • Creates and oversees the e-newsletter, mailings, flyers, client material, social media posts. Use of media creation sites like Canva, Windows Publisher.
  • Maintains and updates the WIX based website.
  • Maintains office files that may be of a confidential nature.
  • Maintains files, forms, office supplies, inventories, waivers, board forms and minutes, policies, and other records.
  • Oversees the office cleaning, lawncare, and snow removal.
  • Contact person for utilities, services, phones, internet, copier, alarm, etc.
  • Provides support on special projects and assignments.

Oversees all volunteer functions.

  • Finds and utilizes volunteers: contact donors, schools, nonprofits, colleges, churches, businesses, service agencies (ServErie, Opportunities Unlimited), and former and current volunteers.
  • Creates service opportunities for house builds, ReStore, golf tournament, events, and fundraisers and communicates it to potential and current volunteers.
  • Maintain files and equity hours of clients in the homeownership program, and communicate with their Habitat family partners.
  • Maintains volunteer sign-ups and data.
  • Schedules and communicates volunteer sign-ups with construction and ReStore staff.

  • In office hours 9 am – 5 pm, Monday – Friday or if part-time as arranged.
  • $19-21 per hour depending upon experience.
  • 3% of annual salary match for SIMPLE IRA plan participants.
  • Salaried full-time only: medical plan available.

Qualifications & requirements:

  • Candidate must live within 30 minutes of the Habitat office.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in general office administration and/or volunteer management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Google docs.
  • Workable knowledge of programs such as Canva, Jotform, newsletter creation sites.
  • Social media and website management, and content creation are a plus.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships and be efficient with time management.
  • Reliability and punctuality is a must.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Ability to complete tasks in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check.
