Part-Time | $20/hour | 20–25 hours per week
The Erie Art Museum is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Development Associate – to manage and grow our membership program. This part-time position plays a key role in ensuring members feel connected, appreciated, and informed, while supporting the Museum’s fundraising goals and enhancing visitor loyalty. This position reports to the Development Director and works closely with the marketing and visitor services teams to ensure a positive and engaging member experience.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Responsibilities
Manage member processing, acknowledgments, and renewals using DonorPerfect CRM
Keep accurate and up-to-date membership records
Create and send compelling email reminders to lapsed or soon-to-lapse members
Process new applications and welcome materials for Museum members
Track membership metrics monthly and generate internal reports
Maintain inventory of membership materials and ensure front desk materials are replenished
Research membership practices at peer institutions and propose new ideas to support retention and growth
Create membership strategies that align with overall development goals
Support member engagement through email updates, welcome messages, and renewal reminders
Support the Director of Development with donor database tasks as needed
Ensure a welcoming and professional tone in all member interactions
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Arts Administration, or a related field
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in a nonprofit or membership-based organization
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Experience with CRM systems (DonorPerfect preferred)
Comfortable with technology, including Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets)
Must obtain (or have current) PA State Police Criminal History Clearance, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, and FBI Criminal History Clearance. (The Museum will assist in acquiring these if not already completed.)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in donor or member stewardship
Familiarity with email marketing tools (e.g., Constant Contact or Mailchimp)
Customer service experience in a cultural or hospitality setting
Schedule & Compensation
Part-time: 20–25 hours/week, flexible schedule during Museum business hours
Compensation: $20/hour
