Job Summary:

The Resource Teacher is responsible for analyzing student data to provide instruction to students who are in need of academic support. While Special Education services are not offered within the school setting, the Resource Teacher should have knowledge of various learning styles to better support students and their families.

 

Immediate Supervisor: Building Principal

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Organize and maintain student records
  • Update accommodations annually for students who have strategic accommodations
  • Coordinate with the Educational Consultant from IU5 to support students with Equitable Participation Plans
  • Provide intervention support through one on one, small group, and push-in services
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and teachers
  • Support students and teachers by providing day to day accommodations
  • Work with teachers to develop and carry out strategies to enhance student learning
  • Analyze data points to identify students who are struggling or in need of enrichment support
  • Plan and coordinate with grade level teachers to provide effective instruction
  • Plan interventions to meet the needs of students based upon data and teacher observations
  • Coordinate with Act 89 and Title I staff to effectively plan for student interventions
  • Assist in proctoring NWEA Map Growth testing
  • Analyze and organize data collected from NWEA Map Growth, IXL, as well formative, and summative assessments that are conducted within the classroom
  • Help to facilitate the Building Level Support Team (BLeST)
  • Support the entire school community as needed

 

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

Knowledge of:

  • Communication skills
  • Proper use of communication systems; proper telephone techniques and etiquette
  • Data management; storage and retrieval systems
  • Interpersonal skills; including patience and courtesy
  • Knowledge of Best Practices in Teaching
  • Bachelor’s/Certification in Elementary or Special Education
  • Preferred: Knowledge of Special Education

 

Skills:

  • Organize and maintain student records

 

  • Build and maintain working relationships with administration, faculty, staff, students, parents, and local community
  • Knowledge of NWEA MAP Growth Testing and Data

 

Ability to:

  • Maintain and organize student records
  • Perform designated duties in a timely manner to meet timelines/deadlines
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Maintain a positive attitude at all times
