Education Outreach & Program Coordinator

Primary Role and Responsibility:

The Education Outreach Assistant position at WQLN is responsible for sharing PBS Kids content and resources with parents, educators, and early learning community organizations from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures through educational events, workshops, and training.   Additional duties include organizing and delivering family learning activities, afterschool programs, camps, workshops, and educator trainings that promote the educational initiatives at WQLN using PBS Kids resources, and the utilization of educational media to improve student outcomes. 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate degree in education or equivalent combination of education and experience serving children, families, and educators
• Pennsylvania State Clearances including PA Child Abuse History Clearances and PSP Criminal Record Check
• Experience working with preschool children and their families
• Experience in training others, presenting to a group, and effective public speaking
• Strong communication skills
• Effective working independently or in a team environment
• Self-starter and strong organizational skills
• Experience working well with a wide range of families
• Above average experience using computers, Microsoft Office, a database, and the Internet
• Ability to plan, coordinate, create, and manage multiple projects and events
• Excellent project planning skills with close attention to details and timelines

Preferred Qualifications

• Classroom experience as a teacher or aide
• Teaching certificate
• Experience using technology in an educational setting to enhance learning
• Adaptable and resilient in dynamic environments

• The salary range for this position is $35,000 to $39,000 and offers a complete benefit package including excellent medical/dental/vision coverage, 12+ paid holidays and generous vacation time, matching retirement benefits, and a positive work culture. The Educational Outreach and Program Coordinator reports to the Director of Educational Services.
