JOB SUMMARY: Under general direction, the Campus Police Officer’s primary role is to prevent crime and the breach of public order. Primary responsibilities include protecting students, faculty, staff, campus visitors, property, and facilities from accidents, bodily harm, fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. Other daily responsibilities include enforcing local, state and federal law and LECOM Policy and Procedure related to traffic and parking regulations, apprehending violators, providing general information and assistance to the public, conducting criminal investigations and participating in community oriented policing efforts. Must be available for 2nd, 3rd, weekend, and holiday shifts. Our need is greatest right now for coverage on Saturdays and Sundays.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and experience equivalent to: Valid driver’s license and completion of PA Act 120 Municipal Police Training required. Students currently enrolled in PA Act 120 Municipal Training must be able to get a waiver from the director of the program to be considered. Associate Degree in criminal justice or related field with strong computer skills preferred. Successful candidate must possess efficient and effective verbal and written communication skills, multi-task and problem solve to properly support and promote the mission of LECOM.
If an offer of employment is made by LECOM, the candidate will be subject to background reporting and investigation, which includes disclosure of any disciplinary action taken by other law enforcement agencies, and all other requirements set forth by PA Act 57 and MPOETC.
