Office Assistant Position:

Greater Erie Area Habitat for Humanity is seeking a 20 to 40-hour Office Assistant. The position reports to the Executive Director, and collaborates with the Construction Manager, ReStore Manager, and Executive Director to provide administrative support.

Position Overview

  • Receives and makes calls, receives and sends emails.
  • Records messages or responds to caller with required information.
  • Serves as a contact person for other employees or the outside public.
  • Provides information regarding location or availability of materials, resources, and services.
  • Maintains office files that may be of a confidential nature.
  • Maintains files, forms, office supplies, inventories, waivers, and other records.
  • Communicates with volunteers for builds and ReStore, committees, and the board.
  • Participates in mailings and distributions.
  • Provides support on special projects and assignments.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.
  • In office hours 8:30 am – 5 pm, Monday - Friday
  • Benefits available for a 40-hour position.
  • $17-20 per hour depending upon experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in general office administration.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Google docs, etc.
  • Social media and website management, and content creation are a plus.
  • Good people skills with a keen sense of self-awareness.
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to build effective working relationships and be efficient with time management.
  • Reliability and punctuality is a must.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Ability to complete tasks in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Must be meticulous for accuracy of data and information entry and management.
  • Ability to multitask, be organized, and self-motivated.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check.
