The Nurse Trainer is responsible for the health services training component for agency employees.

Base pay rate is $21 per hour.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Conducts the Health Services training in the training facility and necessary locations to ensure consistent education among employees to ensure quality care for our individuals.
  2. Conducts N95 fit testing and also reviews and approves the medical evaluations for fit testing.
  3. Collaborates with Career Development team and Leadership members for annual training review.
  4. Will become and continue as an active Certified Investigator for illnesses/injuries and/or death investigations for agency individuals as needed.
  5. Conducts Medication Administration observation and/or training as needed.
  6. Collaborates with the Residential and Health Services program leadership to assist with the formulation and review of policies and procedures pertinent to health service delivery.
  7. Proposes medical training curriculum to supervisor and Leadership team members as needed.
  8. Assists with nurse training as needed and in conjunction with Health Services and Life Sharing programs.
  9. Assists Career Development Trainers with CPR/FA/AED recertification and other medical trainings as assigned. 
  10. Integral with coordination of community outreach for medical component within Career Development training role.
  11. Conducts hands on training for specific diagnoses agency wide as needed, i.e., UTI training, etc.
  12. Performs as the backup for Life Sharing Medically Complex Children services pertaining to the nursing/medical component as required.
  13. Prepare and review all necessary documentation relevant to health services training.
  14. Collaborates with the Residential and Health Services team for continuation of medical knowledge to better educate employees.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current licensure by the State of Pennsylvania.
  2. A minimum of one year (1) education/training or equivalent experience.
  3. A minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience.
  4. Experience and knowledge with IDD is preferred.
