Office Assistant Position:

French Creek Council Boy Scouts of America is looking to fill a full-time Office Assistant role. The ideal candidate is focused, hardworking, meticulous, initiative-taking and can embrace an environment requiring the ability to prioritize & execute multiple tasks simultaneously. While prior scouting experience is appreciated, a willingness to learn, along with an open and friendly demeanor is of greater importance as we can train the right individual. Job duties have been outlined below with the potential for additional responsibilities to follow.

Position Overview

  • Receives incoming calls for office personnel and refers to appropriate person. Records messages or responds to caller with routine information. Serves as a contact person for other employees or the outside public. Provides information regarding location or availability of materials, resources, and services.
  • Maintains office files that may be of a confidential nature.
  • Seasonal duties to include supporting camp programs in our online reservation system and ordering supplies for camp.
  • Assist with paperwork for recruitment.
  • Maintains files, forms, office supplies, inventories, and other records. Participates in mailings and distributions.
  • Assist customers in retail store with purchases.
  • Greet visitors and supply information.
  • Provides support on special projects and assignments. Serves as backup to other office support.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.
  • In office hours 8:30-5:00 Mon-Friday & occasional Wed. night until 6 pm.
  • Benefits available.
  • $13/hr.


Qualifications

  • 12 months of experience in customer service and/or general office assistance.
  • Retail store experience appreciated but not required. Will train.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook)
  • Good people skills with a keen sense of self-awareness
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to build effective working relationships and be efficient with time management.
  • Reliability and punctuality is a must
  • Initiative-driven and growth-minded
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Ability to complete tasks in an efficient and timely manner
  • Must be meticulous for accuracy of data and information.
  • Ability to multitask, be organized, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to work in stressful situations.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check and youth protection training.
