Part-Time High School English Teacher

Position: We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Part-Time English Teacher to join our team. This role involves working with students aged 14-18, helping them explore the depths of English literature and language.

Job Summary:

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the educational needs of students.
• Facilitate learning for diverse classrooms and provide individualized instruction to support all learners.
• Assess and record students’ progress and provide feedback.
• Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Participate in faculty meetings.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field.
• State teaching certification (preferred).
• Experience teaching English to middle or high school students.
• Strong understanding of English grammar, writing, and literature.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students.

Hours: 12 Saturdays 8:30am to 4:00pm from November to May

Location: Mercyhurst University Center for Academic Engagement

Compensation: Pay is $25.18 /hr.
